About the Department
The Department of Mechanical Engineering, established in 2009, is one of the most dynamic and evergreen branches of SVHEC. The department offers a UG programme in B.E. Mechanical Engineering and a PG programme in M.E. Industrial Safety Engineering. Mechanical Engineering integrates the principles of engineering, physics, mathematics, and material science to design, analyze, manufacture, and maintain mechanical systems. The department plays a vital role in preparing students for key sectors such as automotive, aerospace, energy systems, thermal engineering, CAD/CAM/CAE, design, manufacturing, and industrial safety. To support advanced learning and hands-on innovation, the department is equipped with a dedicated Additive Manufacturing Laboratory, enabling students to explore rapid prototyping, product design, and modern digital manufacturing techniques. With the rapid evolution of technologies like Automation, Robotics, Industry 4.0, Smart Aviation, and Mechatronics, the department ensures students are well-trained to meet contemporary industrial demands. Our graduates develop strong analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills that empower them to excel in diverse domains including safety engineering, product development, FEM analysis, mechatronics, and industrial management. The department remains committed to academic excellence, research culture, industry collaboration, and holistic student development.
